Drops dropping down you, Leafy green
Rain drops they are naive and clean.
They didn’t wash away your color or sheen
Did they polish and make you clean?
In your face, I gaze and preen
Try finding mine as clear and clean.
Rustle in my ears, long it has been
Tell me the secret, don’t be so mean!
Time would come when rain would give in
Leaving behind your boughs and the luster green
Slipping down those stems you too would begin
You too would wonder what could have been
If some spell could keep you evergreen
Green forever, not losing your sheen
Then I would drown you leafy green
In search of your color, in search of your sheen.
